Is GoldCore Regulated?
The provision of precious metals and related services do not require regulation. GoldCore was regulated from 2005 until July 2018, operating a successful wealth management business in the Republic of Ireland. This business was sold in 2015. While maintaining the highest operational standards, GoldCore decided to deregulate of its own volition in July 2018. GoldCore felt, given the sale of our wealth management business in 2015, that regulation was no longer needed and arguably represented a degree of risk that was not warranted.
Is GoldCore financially stable?
Yes. We are a private limited company and as such our audited accounts are available for anyone to view by searching for us on the company register in the Republic of Ireland ( www.cro.ie ). Our company number is 377252. We are happy to provide any interested party with the contact details of our auditors, bank and legal representatives.
Where are your offices?
Our head office is situated in the centre of Dublin on Carmanhall Road. We also have an office at No.1 Cornhill in the City of London. We use the London office for pre-arranged client meetings and media events.
Stephen is the CEO of GoldCore and has been part of the company for over a decade. Ensuring the business runs effectively, he works with select clients and strategic partners to cultivate new business opportunities.
After a BSc Hons degree in Business at Portobello Business College in Dublin, Ireland, Stephen began his career in finance. He held financial and trading posts in New York, before joining Goldman Sachs as a Sales Trader in Equity Derivatives.
Later returning to Ireland from the US, he put his experience in trading, risk, and financial markets at Goldman to good use. His entrepreneurial drive led him to establish his own financial services firm at GoldCore. Stephen now leads a group of professionals who advise clients on gold and silver purchasing.
He is married with three young, lively boys, and, when he's not at work, he loves the outdoor life. He resides in the rural Dublin Mountains and enjoys mountain walking and biking with the family.
David is the Director of Marketing and Communications at GoldCore, responsible for all marketing and communications strategies and branding.
He received a BA Hons in Business Studies from the University of Ulster and a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Services. He began a financial career in 1997, working in banking as a trader where he successfully traded currencies, futures, and bonds. This experience sparked an interest in gold and its role as financial insurance and as a barometer of risk for financial markets.
David joined GoldCore in 2008 as Director of Business Development and later took over as Director of Marketing and Communications in 2020. Having managed and operated his own Marketing Agency and completed multiple coaching qualifications, David is perfectly positioned to implement successful marketing strategies and clear communication.

When he’s not at work, David is passionate about sailing and has completed the ‘Round Ireland Yacht Race’ twice.
Head of Treasury and Trading
Padhraig has been part of GoldCore for over a decade and is currently Head of Treasury and Trading. In this role, he is responsible for treasury, trading functions, procurement, and the development of new functions, processes and efficiencies.
Padhraig graduated in 2002 from DCU in Dublin with a BSc in Finance, Computing and Enterprise. He then entered the funds' industry, where he remained until joining GoldCore in 2010. He also qualified in tax at the Irish Tax Institute.
In a continually developing industry, no two days are the same. Digital transformation changed how GoldCore operated, bringing exciting new improvements in client interaction. Padhraig’s role at the company allows him to cultivate supplier relations.
In his leisure time, he is a keen sportsman and plays football and basketball. He enjoys coastal fishing and local bog walks and proudly speaks Gaelige, the Irish language, fluently.
Head of Bullion Sales
Derek joined GoldCore in 2019 to lead the Sales Team. Alongside his experienced team, he works with new and existing clients, handling assets under management, processing new orders, and ensuring that GoldCore provides consistently high client service.
Before joining GoldCore, Derek worked in financial services for almost 20 years. He spent eight years in Asia where he managed the Interest Rate Derivatives Middle Office for RBS in Tokyo. After Tokyo, he moved with RBS to Hong Kong, managing Client Valuations for Interest Rate and Equity Derivatives.
In 2009 he moved back to London and joined Citibank as a Project Manager within Global Transaction Services. He later took a sabbatical from finance in 2015 and followed his passion to work with classic cars. He relocated to Sao Paulo in Brazil to source classic cars and related parts for the domestic market.
Returning to Dublin in 2019, his keen interest in current affairs, gold and commodities led him to GoldCore. He saw a unique opportunity to influence a growing local company.
In his leisure-time, Derek restores classic cars and loves long road trips to far-flung places!
