India Issues Tender for Gold Coins Sold Through 700 Post Offices

India, the world’s largest consumer of bullion, invited offers for the supply of gold coins for sale through 700 post offices across the country.

Bidders have until Feb. 14 to submit offers for coins in various denominations to the Department of Posts, according to tender documents on the government’s website. The contract is for five years and coins will be sold at specified post offices on sale or return basis, according to the document.
