Gold edges down in early Asian trading

Gold prices slipped in Asian trading Friday, after soaring Thursday in the wake of a sell-off on Wall Street combined with continued worries about Europe's fiscal troubles.

Gold futures for June delivery traded down $9.60, or 0.8%, at $1,199.20 an ounce in electronic trading.
